The Fringe Collaborative was created in 2020 and is the endeavor of 4 like-minded stylists who have come together to foster an environment of camaraderie, community and creativity.

Evolving with the changing times and asking the question “what else is possible” stylists Kim Hammer, Donna Ferrer, Denise Kosiakowski, and Katie Payne reimagined what a salon could be. Thus, The Fringe Collaborative was born. Working together as equal partners, the stylists at The Collaborative run the show - everything from the nitty gritty of salon operations, booking appointments, and of course, creating kick-ass hairstyles and color! We inspire each other to foster an environment of creativity, non-judgment, acceptance, and most importantly, JOY. We have cultivated a space where clients can let their hair down (pun intended) and take respite from the hectic world, and we hope that everyone who walks through our doors can feel the love we have for our craft, our clients and each other.

Kim Hammer

Kim has more than 20 years experience as a hairstylist, educator, and visionary thinker.
Kim has:
Worked as a senior stylist and educator for the Aveda/Estee Lauder company in NYC.
Styled Margaret Cho, P.J. Harvey, and Natasha Lyonne.
Supported Maplewoodstock as a vendor, sponsor and local mom.
Served on the board of Springfield Avenue Partnership.

Donna Ferrer

Donna has more than 30 years experience in cutting, color and extension work.
Donna has:
Worked with leading brands such as Goldwell, Wella, and of course Aveda.
Mastered several methods of hair extensions, including Dome, Great Lengths and Prostyles.
Styled Paul Dano, Glenn Close, Vera Farmiga, and Claire Danes.
Been part of weddings as a stylist and officiant.

Katie Payne

Katie has had a passion for hair and makeup most of her life. She strives to create unique wearable styles for both women and men.
Katie has:
Worked at The Beehive, a cutting-edge salon in Williamsburg, Brooklyn.
Graduated from the Aveda Institute in SoHo.
Built a loyal client base beginning at home.
A past-life as a graphic designer.
Enjoys creative writing, drawing and gardening.

Denise Kosiakowski

Denise brings 15 years of experience to the collaborative.
Denise has:
Grown up with hair, watching and admiring her mother’s work as a hair stylist.
Mastered the art of upstyling with Aquage and learned methods of hairpainting with Sunlights Balayage.
Worked for intercouiffure artist, Lulu Benavidez at Lulu’s the Salon and Spa in Galveston, TX.
Twin toddlers and a ton of patience.
